Since the opening in 2001, more than 19 million people have come to see what was once a huge crater in Cornwall, now turned into an educational charity. To support The Eden Project and help the teams reduce their carbon footprint, we offered our help with 18 Renault electric vehicles, including Renault TWIZY, Renault ZOE and Renault KANGOO Z.E. 33.
A Visitor's Vision
Bastian is from Mexico and just settled with his family in Cornwall. He explains how inspired he is to discover such an initiative. “I have the same trees in my home town! I have this idea to create a sustainable garden in my new house here in Cornwall - I need to come back and learn from this place.”
Step by Step
Our Journey Together
“The electricity that comes from getting a few people together who believe in something is unstoppable”.
“We must stop believing we are doing things for our children. I think that’s terrible, because it means people over the age of 40 have no hope for themselves.”
“I needed people to understand that when something good happens, it also happens in a wider environment.”
The Importance of Dreaming
In an era dominated by climate change, it’s impossible to remain melancholic when you meet Sir Tim Smit. After first being involved in the restoration of The Lost Gardens of Heligan, he then co-founded the Eden Project in 2001.
“People don’t get much excited about small projects. So, I had to do something much bigger. We can only progress by imagining a really nice future where we feel our dependence on the natural world and work with it. So, in that big hole, I decided to create a civilization. And I needed it to be very damaged to show people you can create magic anywhere” explains Sir Tim Smit.
Nestled in this huge crater, the massive Biomes house the largest rainforest in captivity, exhibitions and stories. The money raised supports their projects and learning programs for a better future.
A Shared Vision
At Renault, our ambition is to provide everyone with access to affordable and sustainable motoring and support. With this partnership, we hope to inspire people to find out how electric vehicles can contribute to a reduction in carbon emissions.
“We are proud to be in partnership with Renault, Europe’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer. We are using a range of their amazing 100% electric vehicles, which help us to make our daily operations as green as possible” explains the team at The Eden Project.
